Why Are You Passionate About Ethereum?

During the Cambrian Period around half a billion of years ago, the fact that oxygen levels were finally stable on Earth allowed for most of the life-forms we know of today to emerge. Not only did we get life on Earth to start to proliferate, but by nature, it was diverse and synergistic. And it happened suddenly.

Ethereum for me is analogous to the stable oxygen levels back in the day. Because of ETH, developers can now reliably build any sort of application on top of this protocol without the fear of losing it all, a.k.a. censorship risk. Moreover, being ETH decentralized, newer and more powerful Internet-native incentive structures can be devised such that the value of a network goes to the network. It's inherently meritocratic.

An open-protocol allows for composability too. That means that any Internet-native problem that gets solved (digital identity, token swapping, social graph portability) only needs to be solved once. Other developers can then plug these solutions into their applications and focus solely on their proposed innovation. And then some other app might come around and creatively and permissionlessly plug into this innovation too... ad infinitum. Rest assured - the value accrued from the resulting iterative complex app will be distributed fairly.
